"Rush" is the formal recruitment period where potential new members get the opportunity to meet Phi Gamma Delta, learn about it's values, and see if it is a good fit for them. This doesn't mean that you have to join, but you are encouraged to spend as much time during rush with brothers to get to know the organization.

Phi Gamma Delta recruits new members 365 days a year. Don't think that just because it's not the formal recruitment period that you can't join. Although there aren't formal events, you are more than welcome to check out the organization and ask for an interview to join.

Show interest in the organization. Come out and introduce yourself. We don't bite! Don't feel intimidated, we've all gone through the same thing, and understand your situation.

Ask for an interview. The interview for joining is called a "Formal Smoker." It's a chance for the recruitment team to ask you questions that you may not have been asked in casual conversation. Although this is a formal process, it's a chance for you to ask any questions of the organization as well.

Accept your bid. Once you receive your bid from the chapter, you have 24 hours to decide whether joining is right for you. At this point, it will probably be a no brain-er!

Phi Gamma Delta (or FIJI as were referred to) is JMU's Premiere Leadership Development Fraternity. We strive to be men of excellence and hold ourselves to a higher standard than most organizations on campus. FIJI is known for its strong brotherhood and great relationship with campus and other organizations. We are also very active in our philanthropy, "FIJI fights Autism."

Phi Gamma Delta also offers a $250 Scholarship to all members who receive a 3.0 GPA in their first semester in Phi Gamma Delta. Scholarship is at the core to our organization.

FIJI doesn't haze. If you think joining a Fraternity is what you've seen in "Animal House" you're wrong. The brothers of the Mu Chi chapter are a strong social fraternity without any hazing.
